Reporting from the Associated Press on Thursday (24/03/2011)night based on U.S. Geological Survey, the first earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter Scale (SR) is only as deep as sixmiles (10 kilometers). Then followed by the same power but much more in the 140 miles (230 kilometers).
The quake also struck along the border of Myanmar bordering Thailand and Laos, which is approximately 70 miles (110kilometers) from the northern city of Thailand, Chiang Rai.
Known, the building was shaking all over Bangkok, and is 500 miles (800 kilometers) from the epicenter in the south.
Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said the quake was located too far inland to create a destructive wave.
