Thunderstorm Kills 17 People in China

BEIJING - Some 17 people were reportedly killed in the storm accompanied by lightning, which struck Guangdong province, China. A thunderstorm is also causing some other people were injured.

The incident occurred at Fosham Town, Dongguan and Zhaoqing. The three cities are industrial city located in Guangdong Province.

Medical Party says a storm accompanied by lightning, continued to chastise the Guangzhou region and left more than 17 people dead. The death toll was largely crushed by the rubble of collapsed buildings and walls.

As reported by Xinhua news agency on Monday (4/18/2011), accompanied by lightning storms that also caused the 118 other residents were injured.

Guangdong Province is an important industrial regions like China.
Although there is no indication that this storm could cause damage to power lines, local governments still try to anticipate for industrial activity still continues to run smoothly.
