WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama decided to not release a photograph of Osama bin Laden's body, because the pictures in the photo can trigger the crime and could threaten the national security of the United States (U.S.).
"No doubt that we had killed Osama bin Laden," Obama said in an interview with CBS News, as quoted by the Associated Press on Thursday (05/05/2011).
Obama said, anyone who does not believe that if bin Laden had been killed, whether or not the photo that proves bin Laden was killed it made no difference. "There will be people who will deny Osama's still dead. The fact of the reality right now is you will not see bin Laden walking on this earth again, "Obama said.
President Obama disclose his statement in an interview on CBS television. Meanwhile, presidential spokesman Jay Carney read a quote the president told reporters before the event.
Some U.S. officials have revealed, there are some photos taken by members of the Navy Seal that shows Osama was shot in the head. CIA Director Leon Panetta currently estimating at least one photo will be published. Related to that, Carney says the decision has not been made at the time the statement is issued.
However, Carney added President Obama still unsure about the decision to not release the photo. "It's important for us to ensure that the photo of someone who was shot in the head does not spread and lead to crime. I think, took the photographs would pose a threat to national security, "said Carney.
