The International Red Cross Were Confronted By Armed Groups

DAMASCUS -Syria Red Crescent Chairman Marwan Abdullah said a group of armed activists halt the International Red Cross will go to refugee camps in Syria border Turkey.

"Armed groups have also threatened to shoot when the activists of the Red Cross and Red Crescent into refugee camps," said Marwan as quoted from Xinhua, Friday (30/6/2011).

The activists provided humanitarian aid to the refugees who fled the country due to the increasing violence in the province of Idlib, Syria.

Red Cross President Jacob Kellenberger had previously been International talks with Prime Minister Adel Safar and Syria's Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem, Syria linked to humanitarian aid to the refugees.

The number of refugees in Syria Turkey reach tens of thousands of people. Government forces attacked border areas in order to quell the demonstrators and anti-Government armed groups to hunt down that allegedly encouraged the citizens of Syria for the run to Turkey.(rhs)
