Pakistan Took Control Of The Taliban

ISLAMABAD -Pakistani Forces managed to take over the territory on the border with Afghanistan and killed 40 Taliban militants.

The Commander of the Operation of border Forces Brigadier Aftab Ahmed said, the Taliban put up as much as 115 landmines in the region which is located 75 meters from the border with Afghanistan.

"The whole of landmines has been defused," he said as quoted from the Deutsche Presse, Friday (30/6/2011).

As many as 40 militants were also killed in this operation. Pakistani troops deployed helicopters in its possession in the operation were Taliban.

Taliban militants often launch cross-border on the border of Afghanistan. The activity of Taliban militants on the border are also often disrupt relations between Pakistan and Aghanistan. A few days ago, Afghanistan alleges Pakistan fired rockets into the border.(rhs)
