China Approves New Nuclear Projects

BEIJING - The Chinese government will approve new nuclear power project, after previous plans were deferred by the State Council since the tsunami Japan, where spent nuclear safety design.

"NPP-NPP operating and the repair will be evaluated and reviewed by group experts," said a senior expert at the State Nuclear Power Technology Company, Lin Chengge, as quoted by China Daily on Friday (22/04/2011).

Observer group has completed an examination in NPP Daya Bay, Guangdong Province, last week.

"The results of the examination will be given to the government, so the government can decide whether safety improvement is needed," said Lin.

The move came after the government on March 16, suspend the license a new nuclear project, in the aftermath of Japan's nuclear crisis, until the design of safety is made.

China National Nuclear Safety Agency also ordered a nuclear plant that has been established to do security checks after the nuclear crisis in Japan.
