Lost Passion Tokyo

Tokyo City
DURING one year stay in Tokyo, I joined late and feel the hustle and bustle of the city. Kala nightfall, the light is bright with views that are similar in every corner of the city.

Pachinko parlors, billboard advertising, Izakaya bars are crowded, sushi shops, yakitori bar, illuminated by a neon light that glitters in all districts. In various corners of Tokyo, including Shinjuku area, Shibuya, Roponggi, or the Ginza, the hustle and bustle that is very pronounced.

Tokyo metropolis is a picture of a dynamic and passionate. If it is assumed a movie, for me, Tokyo is a fast-moving trailer. Noisy streets. Songs J-Pop played at various angles crowd. Young people dressed in trendy and sometimes bizarre, while her TV show full of laughter and shouted Animashaun. For me, Tokyo like adrenaline that never stops pumping every time.

But things change so fast. Friday, March 11, 2011 - At 2:46 pm, the quake has changed everything. The tsunami came memorakporandakan Northeast Japan. Hit the houses and buildings. Ate thousands of casualties and property. Hit the city of Tokyo. Heavier again, earthquake damage Fukushima Nuclear Reactor, a reactor that supplies 24 percent of electricity needs in Japan.

Japanese crisis and not just the earthquake and tsunami, but also the crisis of nuclear reactor, which led to fears of radiation and the spread of the electricity crisis on the island of Honshu (Japan's largest island), including the city of Tokyo. Rotating blackouts came into effect in various cities.

With grief and sorrow before, plus the lack of adequate electricity, the city of Tokyo are not the same anymore. Something like uprooted in the city. Something has been missing from the pulse of city life in Tokyo. Tokyo breaks that used to be part of my daily life, is now gone.

In the past, trains come every two minutes. Now I have to wait more than five minutes for a train. Sometimes some train lines are also not operating. In the past, city buses have a definite schedule. Now, the delays began to occur on some routes. Starbucks coffee shop, which I used to go after the home office, now close at 4 pm.Subscription bakery, where I buy bread for dinner, was already closed at 06.00 pm. Atre Department Store, where I buy for, have closed the door at 06.00 pm. The reason is to save energy. They closed faster and presents less.

A few days after the earthquake, Tokyo's really changed. No wonder if there is media in Jakarta who wrote that Tokyo City like a "ghost". Dead? Not really, Tokyo still has a hidden passion. They are still moving. They are still active. But it can not be denied, this power crisis has resulted in many corners kota.Ya darkness, the night did not sebenderang first. Neon lights extinguished to save energy.

In Shibuya, Ginza or Shinjuku, the night is much more dim. Those places like a listless loss of blood. The city was like he was doing hibernation for a long struggle ahead.
Yes, a long struggle. How long will this situation last? No one knows for sure. This is a severe electricity crisis for Japan.Damaged nuclear reactor in Fukushima has put Japan on the energy crisis. Stop the operation of nuclear reactors Fukushima 1 and 2 has resulted in Japan's electricity supply disrupted. At least a few months ahead, Japan will continue to experience this darkness.

Rolling blackouts will continue to do, and advice can save electricity by residents will continue the next few months, until alternative energy sources are found.

Tokyo Still Will Continue to Dim

But Japan is a big country that has a spirit and a strong spirit rise. They have been accustomed to experiencing disasters and trials. And some times they also rise. They've got spirit Ganbaru (working hard without giving up) and Kamikaze (determination to death).Seeing the spirit of Japanese people, I am optimistic that once again Japan will rise again. Every meeting with Japanese friends, all also said that optimism.

Residents said that the ruination Tokyo Tokyo is also part of their grief. Since the earthquake and then, I have not seen people drinking and Tokyo mabuk2an, a habit that they always do every Friday night. Now, the bars or Izakaya, devoid of beer and sake. They refrain from doing so in an atmosphere of mourning and respect for the victims.

Japan may rise again one day. Tokyo City may glow again someday. Passion missing must return spread to parts of the city. But, no doubt, see Tokyo to be like this, really sad.
