TOKYO - Chief Cabinet Secretary said Yukio Edano radiated water leakage from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant into the sea should be discontinued as soon as possible.
Edano expressed concern over the cumulative effects of long-term radiation leakage from nuclear power plants.
Edano urged Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco), owner of the NPP, to act quickly to prevent the spread of radioactive contamination into the sea. Thus quoted from NHK, Monday (04/04/2011).
Edano said he has instructed Tepco to take some steps to stem the leaks, including leaks to the ground facing the lane and block the radioactive contaminated water flowing into the sea.
