Yemen Opposition Request International Support

Anti-government protests in Yemen
SANAA - Yemen's opposition party urged the international community, regional authorities and human rights groups to help stop the bloodshed in their country.

Recent weeks as turmoil in Yemeni military and police violence on demonstrators who were demanding President Ali Abdullah Saleh resigned after 32 years in power.

More than 120 people were killed and five thousand people have been injured since the protests began on 11 February. The protests that occurred in Yemen was inspired by demonstrations that began in Egypt and Tunisia.

Yemeni opposition parties issued a statement on Monday, April 4 nights. They said that Saleh and his military forces plan to attack the demonstrators who rallied peacefully for the purpose of killing. Reports the Associated Press, Tuesday (04/05/2011).

Amid increasingly heated protests, Saleh remained in power and said Yemen would be ruined if he withdrew.
