U.S. embassy pelted with paint by Students

MANILA - The students who rallied to protest the participation of troops the United States (U.S.) in military exercises in the Philippines, logos littering the U.S. Embassy in Manila with paint.

Protesters from the left wing League of Filipino Students clashed with security forces and police. While several other demonstrators pelted the embassy logo at the main entrance, filled with plastic yellow and blue paint. After doing that they disband.

Approximately 3000 U.S. soldiers and 2,000 Filipino soldiers participating in training 10 days. Scale reduced exercise because some troops joined disaster relief help in Japan after the earthquake and tsunami on 11 March.

Philippine left-wing groups say the presence of U.S. troops in the Philippines is an affront to national sovereignty.
