80 Year-old grandmother were rescued after 9 days Trapped

TOKYO - Japanese police reported that rescuers managed to save a 80-year-old grandmother, while trying to remove a teenager who was trapped in ruins of houses destroyed by the quake.

Two miracles occurred nine days after a massive earthquake rocked Japan March 11 last. At first rescuers found a 16-year-old teenager, on the roof of his house in Ishinomaki.

"Teenagers are rescued after screaming for help," Miyagi prefectural police statement as quoted by the Associated Press on Sunday (03/20/2011).

When about to be saved, the teen led rescuers to the house where rescuers found 80-year-old grandmotherBoth were rescued, but in a weak condition, having to survive in ruins of houses destroyed.

Once rescued, the helicopter carrying them to a nearby hospital toget more intensive care.
