Radioactive Nuclear Power Plant Near The Sea, Highest

OSAKA - Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant operators to detect radioactive iodine is 1,250 times higher than the legal limit in the Pacific Ocean near nuclear power plants.

In a trial conducted by the Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco)radioactive iodine was detected in waters 300 meters off the coast of reactor number one. Thus quoted by AFP on Saturday (26/03/2011).

The findings are very high compared to several experiments performed last week. Tepco on Thursday, March 24 claim, the level of iodine -131 are found in ocean waters near nuclear power plantsare at levels 145 times higher than legal limits.

Fire engines and trucks betom recent weeks has poured hundreds of tonnes of sea water into the reactor and fuel rod storage poolsat nuclear power plant after cooling system damaged by the earthquake and tsunami on 11 March.
