India Criticizes Air Attacks on Libya

NEW DELHI - The Indian government said the international coalition led by the United States (U.S.) are not entitled to intervene in domestic affairs in Libya. The Indian government also condemned the military attack Gaddafi troops to enforce the no-fly zone.

India, who did not vote on the vote of the Security Council (BOC), the United Nations to authorize military action, condemned the air strikes conducted by U.S. troops, British, and French. China and Russia are two countries that abstained in the UN Security Council vote.

"What happens in a country, in their domestic affairs, none of the foreign powers who may intervene," said Finance Minister and Chairman of the Indian Lower House Pranab Mukherjee was quoted as saying by Reuters on Tuesday (03/22/2011).

"No one, no one country can take to change a government decision. Government will change or not it depends on the country's people, not from outside, "said Mukherjee.

Indian Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna called for cessation of armed conflict on Monday, March 20, a day after Indian Foreign Ministry issued a statement deplored the air attack on Libya.
