Earthquake death toll of Myanmar, Now Reaches 75 People

YANGON - The death toll measuring 6.8 Richter scale (SR) on Thursday night that shook Myanmar continues to grow. The death toll is reported to reach 75 people.
 
An official in Myanmar says 74 people were killed and 110 people injured.
Victims are located in five regions close to the epicenterMeanwhile, more than 240 buildings collapsed due to earthquake.
 
"We're trying to reach remote areas. Military, police and Japanese authorities tried to evacuate the injured in quake-hit areas, but the roads are still closed, "said the officer was quoted as saying by AFP on Friday (03/25/2011).
 
Previously reported death toll from the earthquake in Myanmar reached 41 people and 48 people were injured.
 
United States Geological Survey (USGS) previously recorded earthquake strength 7.0 Richter scale (SR). However, the USG Slater revised to 6.8 magnitude earthquake forces.
 
Aftershocks occurred some time after the earthquake is felt with strength 5.4 SR. Epicenter of the quake was near the border with Thailand and Laos with a depth of 10 kilometers.
