Tepco, Change Strategy To Refrigerate The Reactor

Car fire in Fukushima nuclear power plant
TOKYO - Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco) urged to change the recovery strategy of the reactor at Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. This was done because of the extremely high radiation levels at these locations.
Nuclear reactor number 1 through 4 has lost the use of refrigeration, and cooling efforts and support from outside the electricity failed.
Tepco has made efforts to restore electricity in the outside plant while continuing to cool by spraying water reactor nuclear fuel pool, so that the water content is maintained.
But on Thursday, March 24 last, three plant workers exposed to high levels of radiated water in the basement of reactor turbine building number 3. Radiation levels at the site reached 200 millisieverts per hour at a time.
This resulted in the conversion plan. In an effort to continue to cool the reactor, Friday, March 25 Tepco began pumping fresh water instead of sea water into the reactor 1 and 3. Thus quoted from NHK, Saturday (03/26/2011).
With this strategy, Tepco hopes to use the water pump reactor. But the proposal was rejected, Tepco urged to use a pump truck from a distance, because high levels of radiation detected near the pump reactor.
Today Tepso plans to restart the lamp in the control room of reactor 2 via the flow of electricity from nuclear power plants.Meanwhile, they also continue to use the truck to pump fresh water into the reactors.
